Author: Jenny Han
Publication Date: May 5, 2009
Genre: Young Adult, Contemporary Romance

Synopsis from Goodreads:
Belly measures her life in summers. Everything good, everything magical happens between the months of June and August. Winters are simply a time to count the weeks until the next summer, a place away from the beach house, away from Susannah, and most importantly, away from Jeremiah and Conrad. They are the boys that Belly has known since her very first summer--they have been her brother figures, her crushes, and everything in between. But one summer, one terrible and wonderful summer, the more everything changes, the more it all ends up just the way it should have been all along.

My Thoughts

I decided to read this series because Jenny Han was coming here to the Philippines, but life happened, and I wasn’t able to go. Okay, college sucks. This is actually my first Jenny Han book, and I love it!

I don’t know how exactly this book makes me feel a lot of things, but I just know that I absolutely love this book. It made my heart skip a beat. I didn’t like Belly at first because she seemed so insecure and attention-loving. Not in the sense that she puts herself up in the spotlight, but she likes the people to be attentive and take notice of her. She most definitely didn’t want to get left out most of the time. Despite that I don’t usually like insecure people, I was okay with Belly. I actually liked her character, and felt connected to her.

For the first time ever, I really couldn’t choose a ship team. I don’t know if I’d go with Team Jeremiah or Team Conrad. The both of them are awesome in their own ways which make me feel like I’ll be okay with whoever Belly ends up with. I like how the two of them aren’t really catching up her attention, and they’re just friends, but you know that the feels are there.

For such a short book, there were so much feels. Not to mention that I’m in a beach resort island thingy, so it feels like I’m really with them. The setting is all so great! In all honesty, I couldn’t even find anything much to complain because everything is just beautiful. It is just perfect. This is a great summer read, and I recommend this to all young adult, contemporary romance readers. Go read it, now! :)
